POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT  


The goal of Meals on Wheels is to support our senior neighbors in remaining independent and healthy by delivering nutritious meals, building social connections,

providing safety checks, and connecting them with available services in the community.



POSITION TITLE:  Chief Executive Officer

REPORTS TO:    MOWMAMA Board of Directors

POSITION CATEGORY:  Exempt

EMPLOYEE CLASSIFICATION:  Regular full time

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


Establish policies, priorities, guidelines and procedures for operating all aspects of the agency effectively and efficiently within contractual, legal, budgetary and Board of Director policies, guidelines and requirements.


Develop and implement short-term and long-term agency goals


Oversight of the development of the annual agency budget. Administer the expenditure of all agency funds within budgetary guidelines.


Administer the effective and efficient operation and maintenance of agency-owned facilities, equipment and property.


Serve as the official representative of MOWMAMA to the public. Oversee public relations activities to promote MOWMAMA services and programs.          


Foster and maintain a positive, professional working relationship and network with local government, business, chamber of commerces, media, religious, health and nonprofit leaders and the public.


Oversee development programs including fund raising activities and projects to finance current and planned agency programs and operations.


Exercise final staff authority for the recruitment, hiring, evaluation, promotion, transfer and termination of all staff members.


Administer and establish personnel policies and procedures in accordance with the employee handbook and federal, state and local laws.


Oversee the safety and security of agency personnel, facilities, equipment and property.


Support the Board of Directors, standing, and ad hoc committees by serving as a voting member, providing information, making recommendations and taking action as requested and/or required.


Participate in continuing education on volunteerism, aging issues, and areas associated with current and potential agency programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:


Master’s Degree in Public Administration or similar degree


Five to ten years of Non Profit Management experience


Five years of supervisory/management experience


Experience working and dealing with senior citizens and volunteers preferred.


Knowledge of basic budgeting procedures and sources of public and private funding.


Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.


Decision making, planning, and organizational skills.


Community involvement and participation through civic groups and volunteer organizations. Familiarity with community resources available to senior citizens.


Ability to participate in agency related activities outside of normal work hours and on weekends.           


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES


Ability to work effectively without direct supervision and to meet deadlines and efficiently and efficiently organize professional activities.


Ability to build and maintain relationships with community leaders, senior citizens, the agency staff, the Board of Directors and the public.


Familiarity with computer data management and program software.


Ability to exercise sound, logical judgment and make accurate, timely decisions.


Ability to assess community needs and develop programs and services to meet these needs.


Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range - $80,000 to $110,000 based on experience level
